Celebrating the “Giornata dello Sport” (Sports Day), the Consulate of Italy in Detroit and Lawrence Tech University, will bring to you an evening with World Kickboxing Champion, Gloria Peritore.

The Italian Kickboxing star will talk about why she first approached this sporting career, touching upon her motivation, her resilience and her courage.

In her fight against stereotypes, she will take a deep dive into her initiative “The Shadow Project”, a foundation with the ambition to combat domestic abuse against women, recounting on both elements of physical and psychological violence.

After the presentation and Q&A, Gloria will proceed to a sparring demonstration with her coach and guests will be able to learn a few important moves for their own personal safety.
